The childcare subsidy calculator above also calculates the childcare fees you pay - weekly, quarterly and annually.

When calculating this figure, it considers the childcare rate for all of your children, as well as the average time they spend in childcare.

Be aware that this is an estimation. The actual figure will vary depending on the amount of childcare actually attended by your child.

Provider Reviews

Our daughter started at Little Shining Stars when she was 14 months old - she hadn't attended a child care centre before. The team members showed so much attention and care for her to ensure she settled in well, it was lovely and genuine. She progressed into the toddler rooms and then into pre-kindy rooms. Her bond with Sharon was most apparent and she also bonded very well with Diem. Both of these educators where amazing in taking Bella through many learning stages. Sharon's dedication in uploading Bella learning profile gave us great insight to her progress as she navigated learnings both physical and behavioural. We moved Bella due to our home location and for her primary school location. I recommend Little Shining Stars and most certainly our daughter educators. - Claire Sim

Our daughter started attending little shining stars when she was 11 months old until she was 4 years old. She absolutely loved her time at little shining stars. The care and nurturing shown by the staff was amazing they helped her develop and learn new skills but at the same time were warm and loving towards her. Our daughter made great friends at little shining stars and blossomed in terms of her development and confidence. We were sad to leave little shining stars for her to transition onto kindergarten but we also knew that her time at little shining stars had given her the right start in regards her educational development. We would highly recommend little shining stars as a childcare centre. Ama Thorn

I have had 3 children attend LSS since the beginning of the Centre. I cannot emphasise how important the staff have been in the care of our children. Warm friendly faces have greeted us every morning. Food is fresh and my children still talk about their favourite meals there. They have had fun excursions to the local park and the library, and love the outdoor water play days and jumping in puddles. We have been sad to finish our association with LSS and we wish them all the very best for the future. Sarah Cleves

My son started in LSS when he was just over a year old and we had recently migrated from overseas. We were new to Adelaide and clueless but the LSS family made us feel welcome and accommodated us instantly. My son was shy at first but always had a wonderful time in care and built lasting relationships with friends and educators. Through the years the educators have shaped him to be a confident, independent and caring young boy. My daughter has also been in care for the last 4 months since she was 6 months old. We are very pleased to see that the baby room educators are attentive and always ready to give us feedback on her daily activities and developmental progress. LSS have been very flexible and accommodating when I request additional care days and have been a wonderful family to us over the last 3.5 years. Big thank you to Parveen, Glenda and the team! I cannot thank the wonderful staff at LSS Wayville enough for their efforts in caring for, educating, and nurturing my 2yr daughter. After transitioning from a different child care centre I couldn't believe the improvement in her behaviour and how quickly Emerald was picking up and learning new things - new activities, new words, new friends and social skills. It was a breath of fresh air and relief to experience this positive change and influence, especially as a first time Mum. The team are welcoming, kind and gentle souls who take pride in their work and their centre. I highly recommend this centre. Until next time! Thank you thank you thank you! Jasmine Sayers

Eliza started day care at little shining stars since she was 1, she is 3 now and cant thank the centre enough for all they have done for her and me. She got all the support, care and love that any mum would want to give her child . I never had to worry because I knew my child was in safe hands. She has now grown the be such a lovely child , her manners , her eating habits , her overall personality blooms and the management and staff contribute to this in every way. Not having our family here in the country was a big worry, but the little shining star family has been a blessing and more than a family to us. Thank you. Kulsum

My daughter started at Little Shining Stars at 11 months of age. Her time there has seen her learn a whole range of skills. The staff are on the whole very caring and nurturing. The current Director is a font of knowledge and happy to share her knowledge and experience with parents. If you are looking for a centre close to the city then I highly recommend LSS. Jocelyn

My son has been going to Little Shining Stars Childcare since last 3.5 years. Carers and the management team are very vigilant and proactive in their care as well as providing timely feedback which sometimes can have life changing impact. I consider this team as group of pseudo mothers and I have heavily relied on their guidance and experience to nurture my son with love and care. I thank you for their flexibility and professionalism during this period and wish them all the growth and prosperity to touch many more kids' life positively. Thanks n Regards Sumit n Ritu

Our son started child care at around 2 years. He was a very reserved kind of boy who had always played and lived alone and did not mix up with any other kids of his age. So, I was really worried how he would react to an environment of strangers and so many kids around him. In the beginning, it was really difficult for us because he used to cry a lot when we dropped him. It was really sad to see him like that. But, the environment and staff were so cooperative and friendly that they handled him really well. I was really surprised when all of a sudden one day I saw him going happily inside and waving me bye with a smile on his face while I left after dropping him. From that time onwards, he never cried when we dropped him and it became really easy for us to get to work. He learnt lot of things and also started making friends and learnt to be with them, communicate, share and play with them. After that, I never thought of changing his child care as he settled there so well and since then my son is 4+ years now and has been going to Little Stars Child care centre for more than 2 years. He loves this place and always happy to go there. Now, he is ready to start kindergarten. Thanks to everyone in the centre who made my son's stay so good that my son still insists to go there. Our son started at little shining stars at around 12 months of age and settled really well there although it was his first time in childcare. The carers were very friendly, knew him and his idiosyncrasies well and made him feel secure right from the beginning. As a result he always was a happy boy at the end of a long day and this was mainly due to the great care he had received at the centre. The food and activities were varied and great outdoor space also when the weather was right. There was a real sense of family and it was a great relief to see him happy away from home and with other kids his age. I would highly recommend it! Carine

Little Shining Stars is a fantastic child care service. They looked after our son from 7 months until 18 months (when we moved interstate) and we wish we could take them with us. The staff are all enthusiastic about caring for children and provide varied activities to keep the kids occupied. The centre was very accommodating when our son was diagnosed with a food intolerance and worked with us to find out what was best for him to eat. I would recommend this service to anyone in Adelaide, even if you don't live or work in Wayville - we commuted from Bowden and then caught the tram into the city to get to work. Phoebe

Our son has attended Shining Stars for two years - he is now just over 3 years old. In all this time we have had the utmost confidence he was being well cared for, nurtured and educated by professional and caring staff. We would have no hesitation recommending the centre to anyone, and its location to the CBD is great. In summary, a first class caring centre that make you feel part of the family! Mark and Kristal
