About International Grammar School Ultimo
International Grammar School (IGS) is a vibrant school with a warm and inclusive community in Ultimo, near Sydney CBD. We are within a short of walk of the University of Sydney and UTS, near the creative hubs of Pyrmont, Glebe and Chippendale.
We are an independent, co-educational and secular school, catering for Preschool through to Year 12 (ages 3 to 18). Our Early Learning Centre offers a two-year program with a focus on language, music and play-based learning. Our teaching staff are highly trained in their areas of expertise.
All students at IGS, whatever their age, study a second language. In Early Learning, the languages offered are French, Chinese (Mandarin), German, Italian and Japanese. All languages are subject to availability and all offers of placement are made for a specific language group.
At IGS Early Learning we offer three types of fixed day placement; two-day (Monday and Tuesday), three-day (Wednesday to Friday) and five-day where available. The official Early Learning program runs between 9am and 3pm and we have extended care running from 7.30am until 6pm. All fees are eligible for the Child Care Subsidy.
Our Early Learning program follows school terms and we also run an optional Vacation Care program with guaranteed places for enrolled students. Vacation Care is operated by school staff.
All Early Learning children receive an offer to continue into Kindergarten at IGS, their first year of formal schooling.
