Where a family day care residence or approved family day care venue is identified as being at particular risk of bushfire policies and procedures relating to emergency and evacuation must incorporate policies and procedures for monitoring bushfire risks and informing families of service closures resulting from bushfire risks. The maximum number of family day care educators that may be employed or engaged by the approved provider is 60. The approved provider must identify family day care educators operating in a family day care residence or approved family day care venue in Victoria at particular risk of bushfire and ensure that these family day care educators do not operate on a declared Code Red day in their Bureau of Meteorology district. The approved provider must notify the Department at least 14 days before they commence to operate in another state or territory. The approved provider must ensure that all person(s) with management or control all family day care co-ordinators employed or engaged by the approved provider and family day care educators engaged by or registered with the service must attend an information forum conducted by the Department in relation to the content and application of the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 (National Law) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011 (National Regulations) by 30 April 2015. The approved provider must:- Provide professional development to all person(s) with management or control all family day care co-ordinators employed or engaged by the approved provider and family day educators engaged by or registered with the service to ensure that they gain knowledge to build their skills in developing effective programs that meet the needs of all children and to enable them to positively interact with children and to give each child positive guidance and encouragement toward acceptable behaviour by 30 April 2015;- Ensure that the professional development is delivered by a recognised early childhood organisation or expert approved in writing by the Department prior to their engagement;- Ensure the professional development is delivered by 30 April 2015; and - Provide the Department with proof of the completion of the professional development within 7 days of completion. The approved provider must provide written information to the Department detailing how all non-compliances have been rectified by 1 February 2015. The approved provider must provide written information to the Department outlining how the service will ensure ongoing compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011 by 1 February 2015.
