At Big Bear Academy we are proud of our state of the art Early Learning centre because it has been specifically designed to enhance all areas of a child’s development including social, emotional, physical and mental growth. Our centre creates an environment that encourages a child’s creative skills where they are able to grow at their own pace and in their own way while making long-lasting relationships with other children and our team of bright and enthusiastic Early Learning educators and teachers. 

We are an inclusive service that celebrates the diversity of our community making everyone feel welcome and supported. 

We offer a very personalised experience focused on school readiness, emotional wellbeing and self-help skills. We designed our room to allow a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor learning environments so children have the ability to ‘free flow’ providing a richer learning experience. 

We also offer a range of incursions throughout the year paid for by the service that are focused on areas such as Gross motor skills, cultural experiences, children's topics of interest, Nature & sustainability, Healthy eating and Music & movement. 

Our natural outdoor area is one of a kind with a nature reserve acting as a beautiful peaceful backdrop and home to native wildlife. Being outdoors and in nature is associated with a myriad of benefits for children including better physical, mental and emotional health as it is a diverse environment allowing children to create a positive connection with the natural world. The natural environment is constantly changing providing ample opportunities for our children to explore and learn, asking questions, observing and experimenting. Our outdoor area is large and interactive, so children are able to climb, jump, run and balance not only encouraging muscle development but also their motor skills and risk assessment.

The daily routine is specifically designed by our knowledgeable team of Early Learning educators and Early Learning Teachers. Each day is unique and carefully mapped to allow for the right balance of structured/free play, incursions/excursions and indoor/outdoor play to ensure we optimize a child’s learning experience.

To keep our children healthy, we provide five nutritious meals including breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack.

We operate with full time Early Learning educators & teachers to support the building of relationships with children and families. Our team are knowledgeable and dedicated to delivering the "Big Bear way" which is exceptional, high quality education with a genuine care for children and a passion for children's growth and development.
